Thus began Jack's first post. He had never really written before and...
This is more of a hello world post. One which tells a story about setting up this website. Now I do have a Linktree, and have had this for a number of years, which is pinned on my Instagram @jack_makes_sounds. But a year after graduating, I felt it would be worth my time to prepare a more professional thing. Besides, a website is pretty suave in its own right!
I began working on this in the summer, when schools are on holiday and I had a lot more time on hand. It's been quite exciting really. Pooling resources, media, thoughts – all the elements of making a public-facing website has been good fun. I have trawled through the archives, checked my calendar for past events, to build a portfolio, thinking of how to present my experience in a palatable, non-obnoxious way (I'm not entirely sure how successful that has been! You can be the judge).
Notwithstanding, it has been a good reflective exercise. Because you could be perfectionist with these things, and in which case I would have nothing to show. It has been a period of frankly evaluating what I have achieved over the years, taking pride in my work and checking my inner critic (oh how corny!)
This website will be a continuous work in progress, my own personal album – but more than just a portfolio, it will be a professional, front-facing point of contact with you. Please feel free to check in as your fancy takes you.
